One More Day
As we remember the events of 23 years ago today, there will be many people who, during their reminiscing, will long for just one more day. Ironically, today, I am longing for just one more day as well. That is not to minimize in any way at all, the remembering of that fateful day of 9/11.
Overwhelmingly blessed, I am, ironically, today enjoying the “one more day” with my sister and brother-in-law which I didn’t think I would have with them just a week ago as they planned their departure for back home from their extended once-in-a-lifetime vacation adventure. They will leave tomorrow. I’ve gotten used to having them around. So I will be sad. But I will be glad, too, for the time we had, and for today.
As we remember the tragedy, and as we thank God for the blessing of one more day, let us also remember that there will come a time for all of us when one more day will not be realized. Hug a little tighter, a little longer, forgive a little sooner, a little deeper. Make the one more day you were given this day, be the one more day that you will never regret.
Make the most of every living and breathing moment because these are evil times (Eph. 5:16 The Voice).
One day at a time, sweet Jesus
That's all I'm asking from You
