Merry Christmas!

A little boy came to his mother late one afternoon and told his mother he had a stomach ache.

“That is because you didn’t eat your lunch. Your stomach is empty. It’s almost supper time and you can eat then. Your stomach will feel much better once you have something in it.”

That evening, the pastor came to visit the family and after some conversation, the father asked, “And how are you, Pastor?”

“I’ve been quite well, thank you. Although today I have a bit of a headache.”

Hearing the conversation, the young boy piped up and said, “Oh, Pastor, that’s because it’s empty! You’ll feel much better once something is in it!”

I admit, this month, I feel a bit like the little boy’s diagnosis of the pastor! I feel like my head is empty and I would feel better if something was in it. There are days when I feel like I can’t think of anything creative whatsoever. Then there are times when I feel like I have just written a masterpiece - in my head that is! When I try to put it on paper it doesn’t sound nearly as masterful.

So for this blog, instead of wise theological words, I leave you with our Christmas poem, and wish you each a Merry Christmas and a very happy, healthy, and safe New Year!
